January

Well at least  2022  has started with more  to report on in January than 2021!

We've run both a flatwork & a test riding clinic with Heather, each of them  were full with eager combinations either with competitions to prepare for or just wanting to get themselves competition ready. We do still have a few spaces left on Heather's February flatwork clinic, see the 'Events' tab if you're interested in that.

The regular Emily Ormerod (Harris)  & Cheryl Bezants clinics have all been full too  as was the No Stress Dressage competition that was held here, starting with the first horse at 8:20am and finishing at 5pm!

Everyone is obviously keen to get out and about this year, possibly helped by the lovely dry weather we had in January , but if you're looking for anything else to go to or you've not    been out yet and want some inspiration  check out the 'Diary' page as there's dates being added all the time !

As well as taking part in our regular Emily and Cheryl  clinics our guys have been out and about this month too.   Mandy & James had a trip out to Hurstbourne for a lesson with Matt Hicks with Winchester Riding Club. It was Mandy's first solo trip with James and though she needed a little help getting an eager James ready in the lorry  he settled quickly into some good work in their lesson so on the whole, a success!

Mandy, Penny, Magda & Ryan all had a good day out together to Sparsholt to their unaffiliated show. Magda did a sterling job of warming him up with a win in the  PYO (elementary)     before Mandy took over the reins to win the medium, both on 66%!

Denver had a slightly longer holiday over Christmas so has spent January quietly building up his fitness again, he did get to have a little jump in one of the Chery clinics though which put a big smile on his face!

Lizzie   is doing her Petplan area festival at Kingston Maurward in February and as she's not been there before we took her for a look round at their BD show this month. Probably a good thing we did as it took a little while for Alison to convince her that the mat in the entrance to the arena wasn't a horse eating monster!  Once in the arena though both tests showed some quality work, some of the changes in particular were a highlight.  They finished 4th in the advanced medium and won their section of the PSG.

Also this month, unfortunately Jane who has been sharing Zi for the last 3 years has had to give her up due to work commitments so Kate is looking for a new sharer.  See the   'Loan, share,   wanted page for full details but here's a couple of photos of her in action thanks to Tlovellphotography who    we also thank for all this month's photos.
